Why laser hair removal is so popular

If you’re tired of shaving, waxing, ingrown hairs, or constant stubble, laser hair removal can be a game-changer. It’s designed to reduce hair growth long-term, leaving skin smoother and helping you spend less time (and money) on regular hair removal.

At RIRI Laser Clinic in Kegworth, we tailor treatments to you—your skin, your hair type, and your goals—so you can feel confident and comfortable throughout your course.

Key benefits of laser hair removal

1) Long-term hair reduction

Laser targets the hair follicle to reduce regrowth over time. Many clients notice hair becomes finer and patchier as sessions progress.

2) Smoother skin with fewer ingrown hairs

Laser can help reduce ingrown hairs and irritation that often come with shaving or waxing.

3) Saves time

No more daily shaving or frequent waxing appointments—especially helpful for areas like legs, underarms, bikini, and face.

4) More comfortable than you might think

Most people describe it as a quick, warm “snap” sensation. The feeling is usually brief because each pulse is fast.

5) Works on many areas

Common areas include underarms, bikini, legs, arms, face, back, chest—plus smaller areas like upper lip or chin.

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser energy is attracted to pigment in the hair. The heat helps disable the follicle so it produces less hair. Because hair grows in cycles, you’ll need a course of sessions to catch hairs at the right stage of growth.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people need multiple sessions for best results because not all hairs are in the active growth phase at the same time. Your exact number depends on:

- the area being treated

- hair thickness and density

- hormones and genetics

- your skin and hair type

- consistency with your appointment schedule

We’ll guide you on a realistic plan during your consultation.

What should I do before my appointment?

General prep tips (we’ll confirm what’s right for you):

- Shave the area as advised before treatment (usually 12–24 hours prior)

- Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading beforehand (these remove the root the laser needs)

- Avoid sunbeds and heavy sun exposure and follow any tanning guidance

- Tell us about any medications or skincare you’re using

Aftercare: what to do (and avoid)

- Keep the area cool and avoid heat (hot baths/saunas/gym) for the advised period

- Avoid sun exposure and use SPF

- Don’t pick or scrub the area

- Expect mild redness or warmth—this usually settles quickly

Is laser hair removal right for everyone?

Laser is suitable for many people, but a consultation is important to check suitability, discuss your goals, and plan safely—especially if you have certain medical conditions, are pregnant, or use specific medications.

If you’re ready to start your course, we’re currently running an offer: buy 5 laser hair removal sessions on the same area and get the 6th session free.
